Aizawl
Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram which lies at the southern side border,

It is accessible from Shillong, Guwathi and Silchar by bus, by road and
by car. Standing on a high ridges surrounded on the east by the deep valleys,
and on the north protected by beautiful high craggy. An ideal hill station
for those looking for fresh air and solitude.
Places of interest in Aizawal include the Museum at Macdonald's Hill. The
Mizoram State Museum is small but a rich treasure house of histrorical relics,
ancient costumes exquisits affects and traditional complements.
Tourist must visit the mini Zoological Garden and Durtlang Hills, the northernmost
part of Aizawl. Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram is 180 Kms. From Silchar
which is the nearest rail-head .
The Bus journey from Silchar to Aizawl usually takes about 6 hours. Mizoram
State Transport Buses between Aizawl and Silchar daily. There is daily Vayudoot
Air Service between Calcutta and Aizawl.
