Vilas Palace
Laxmi Vilas Palace Hotel was built by Maharana Bhupal Singh in 1911 as a
residence of Mr Winn Gate, a political agent at that time. It is located
at the bank of Fateh Sagar lake enjoying the view of the lakes, Aravalli
Hills and Sajjangarh Palace. Original palace was shifted to Hathi Pole and
the palace was rebuilt as a royal guest house to house the dignitaries,
visiting princes and British officers. In 1966 the palace was transferred
to DOT and in 1969 it was handed over to ITDC, and is run under the banner
of "Ashok Group of Hotels".
Hotel Lake Palace
The Lake Palace is one of the most beautiful palaces in the world, arising
out of the Turquoise Waters of the Pichola like an elegant fantasy in white
marble. The Lake palace was built in the 17th century on a natural foundation
of 4 acers of rock. It was initially called Jagniwas after its founder Maharana
Jagjit Singh.
